Frequently Asked Questions

Monarch Therapy Services specializes in individual therapy with licensed therapists. We treat ages five and beyond. We are able to treat a variety of behavioral health diagnoses or provide short term support for life stressors/changes. Please see individual therapist pages for specializations. 

There are times where you and your therapist will determine it will be helpful to have someone else involved in your treatment short term. This will be established on an individual basis and your comfort level. 

During your first session, you and your therapist will complete the intake process. This includes a variety of paperwork, getting background information, and learning about what brings you to therapy. You will also have the opportunity to ask questions about the therapy process.  Together with your therapist you will create a treatment plan to guide your goals of treatment. 

For your first session please be sure to bring your insurance card and co pay if you have one. If services are for your child, they must be in attendance. Due to Pennsylvania regulations, we do need to document any custody arrangements (for anyone 14 years or older) to ensure proper consents for treatment are obtained. 

A counseling session with Monarch Therapy Services typically lasts for 53 minutes, although session length may vary depending on your specific needs and preferences. Sessions generally begin at a weekly basis and are adjusted based on progress and need. 

We do not provide any medication management, psychiatric or psychological evaluations. If during your treatment we identify this need, we will provide you with appropriate referrals. We will engage in collaboration with any other treatment providers you have with your permission. 

We currently do not provide evaluation or recommendations for custody and/or visitation, disability or emotional support animals. 

We are located right on Main Street in Wellsboro with a variety of on street public parking options. You may enter on Main Street through the lobby (same building as MVR Vacation Rentals). You will find the elevator as soon as you enter, we are on the second floor. You may also enter on the Waln Street Entrance if you prefer the stairs. Office is handicap accessible. 

Please take a seat in our waiting room. We will be out to get you at your appointment time. 

You will receive an email with instructions, expectations of telehealth and a link to your appointment. Please log onto the appointment 3-5 minutes before start time. Please call our office if you are having any technical issues. 

You are welcome to request a free 15 minute phone consultation with us. We will ask you a few questions about your goals in therapy and give you an opportunity to ask us any questions you may have.
